      Great silicone mat for large pots & pans

      This is a great silicone mat for protecting countertops from the heat of large pots and pans, which is why I chose it. It's not too thick or thin and is about the circumference of a microwave plate. I like the honeycomb pattern to help distribute heat. The mat can be used in a microwave, although I don't feel the need to do so. The mat is so large that I don't see how it can be used to comfortably and safely open jars and the like. This particular mat is gray, not blue as shown. It's easy to hand wash this mat, and while it might be okay to put it in a dish washer, the mat will probably last longer if hand washed. A good value.

      Wrong color

      I received gray instead of blue, that’s the only downside. This works great for the microwave! Don’t have the annoying plate on glass clunk every time which is extremely helpful with a toddler in the house and a dog that barks at everything. Easy to put in the dishwasher and clean, easy to curl up the sides to grab a plate if it’s too hot! Also works great as a trivet for your counter if needed.
